Pianist Jones to perform his own work at the Maxwell

Martin David Jones will perform his first faculty recital of the year in the Maxwell Theatre on Friday, Feb. 13, at 5 p.m.

Jones has been a piano professor in the Department of Music at Augusta University since 1998, and he enjoys being able to fulfill his dream of teaching and performing. However, he has never done an entire performance with just his own compositions.

This faculty recital will allow him to do just that with the pieces he has been composing for the past 25 years.

Jones said his pieces cover a wide variety of styles from several different musical influences like jazz, rock and roll, and minimalism.

General admission is $10. All AU faculty, staff and students, as well as K-12 students, are free.
