Amadasun signs with Spanish team Gandia
Staff report
Max Amadasun, who was an all-conference center at Augusta University, has signed a professional contract with Gandia in the Spanish Tercera FEB professional basketball league.
The 6-foot-10, 250-pound Amadasun, who manned the pivot at AU from 2023 to 2025, played for Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa Baloncesto in Leon, Spain, last season. He averaged eight points and five rebounds per game for the Leon team.
“Max ‘s hard work continues to pay off,” said AU coach Dip Metress. “He was a relentless routine player, and I am excited about his continuing his professional career.”
Amadasun, 25, an Irish national, played in all 29 games as a senior for the Jaguars, averaging 16.5 points per game and 10.8 rebounds per game. That ranked him 11th in the nation in rebounding. Amadasun recorded 15 double-doubles, which ranked fifth most in the country, and was the first player in program history with 300 rebounds in a season. In two seasons at AU, he totaled 604 rebounds.
The Gandia basketball team posted a 16-10 record last season.
Jaden Wells, a product of Texas-Arlington, is another American on the Gandia roster.
Gandia is located just south of Valencia.
