AU enrollment nears 12,500 for Fall 2025

Susan Davies, AU’s executive vice president for enrollment and student affairs, announced on Wednesday, Aug. 6, that Fall 2025 enrollemtn is 12, 473.

Classes for Fall 2025 begin on Monday, Aug. 11.

Davies announced that the breakdown was 6,470 undergraduate students and 6,003 graduate students on the Fall Kickoff in the Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre. She also said there were a record number of applicants at more than 22,000. Davies said AU’s goal is to have 16,000 students by 2030.

AU had 11,584 students last fall. Davies noted that graduate and professional enrollment continues to grow rapidly.

While the Maxwell was rocking, freshmen were also moving on the same day with staff across the three campuses helping with the move-ins.

In his talk, President Russell T. Keen praised the community and the state legislature for coming up with the funds to build a new translational research building that will cost nearly $100 million.

Deans and other administrators announced their accomplishments in the previous school year, including the building of a new Department of AI and Health, as announced by MCG Dean David Hess.

Undergraduate SGA President John Blalock and Graduate SGA President Puja Punukollu also spoke at the Kickoff.
