Five things in Augusta to check out this fall

The fall season has finally arrived. With this comes cooler air, shorter days and fun activities to enjoy around the Augusta area.

This article will list five fall activities in the CSRA for different audiences to enjoy.

Steed's Dairy: What is fall without corn mazes and a pumpkin patch? Located at 4634 Wrightsboro Road in Grovetown, Ga., this dairy has many things to offer for all ages. Their maze will be open from Sept. 23 - Nov. 12 and tickets are $12 a person. They not only have the corn maze and pumpkin patch but other activities such as a petting zoo, a hayride and rubber duck races. This is definitely a place that would be fun for the entire family or a group of friends to visit. For more information visit their website at www.steedsdairy.com.

Plantation Blood: Plantation Blood is a haunted house filled with actors that jump out and scare those walking through it. This activity is located at 4127 Wallie Drive in Augusta. No dates or prices have been confirmed yet for this year, but last year’s general admission price was $25 or $45 with fast pass. Grantski Records: During the fall season, there will be multiple music performances at the popular record store, Grantski Records. Located at 1151 Broad Street, Augusta, the record shop will have many performances including Inferious W/ Saltwound & Gutcheck on Sept. 23. and Tav Falco's Panther Burns W/ The Dusty Angels on Oct. 2. They also have events on Oct. 14, 18, 25, 27 and 28. The website is also updated with future events and how to buy tickets to these events.

Georgia-Carolina State Fair and Columbia County Fair: The next two events are always popular among citizens of the Augusta area. The Georgia Carolina State fair will be here from Oct. 13 - 22 at 308 Hale Street in Augusta. There will be many attractions such as fair rides, the Miss Georgia-Carolina State Pageant and livestock shows. There will also be plenty of food and games for everyone to enjoy. The Columbia County Fair will be here from Nov. 2-12 at 5462 Columbia Road in Grovetown, Ga. There will also be many rides and activities at this fair to partake in such as a Sea Lion Splash, petting zoo, demolition derby and many other fun activities.

Miller Theatre: If you like going to the movies in an classic theater or seeing a live performance, the Miller Theatre is a great place to visit. Located at 708 Broad Street in Downtown Augusta, this historic theater has a lot to offer. Some of the events they have going on this fall are The Kyiv Grand Ballet: Snow White on Oct. 6, Movies at the Miller: Monsters, INC. on Oct. 15 and Movies at the Miller: Honey I Shrunk the Kids on Nov. 19.
