Masters Expo gives students, faculty a chance to explore tourney jobs at ANGC

Augusta University students had the opportunity to explore and apply for Masters Tournament jobs at the Augusta National Job Expo on Tuesday, Sept. 8, in the JSAC Breezeway on the Summerville Campus.
On Tuesday, Augusta National Golf Club employees received students, faculty and staff seeking more information about employment opportunities for the 2027 Masters Tournament.
Event volunteers and staff handed out cards with hiring details, including the application process and a QR code to the applications site.
Also, the bottom of this card and the website both advertise the application open dates from Sept. 8 to 22. These dates open the application process here at AU.
The areas of ANGC hiring from this event included concessions, hospitality, merchandise and operations. Each department had a table and display for individuals to make contact and engage with their representatives.
For example, Perris Bovan, a freshman business administration major, attended looking for hands-on experience, possibly in a food service or at the pro shop where AGNC makes millions selling shirts, hats, jackets, umbrellas, gnomes and other highly prized Masters goods.
Looking at the Masters as part of the sports entertainment industry, AU students said there were intrigued by gaining insight into one of the biggest events in sports.
The Masters is an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to work in an environment with leaders in their space. Working at the Masters also is seen as a bonus on one’s resume.
The job expo moved to the Health Sciences Campus of AU on Sept. 9.
The Masters Human Resources facilitates this event through coordination with Augusta University Career Services. AU Career Services director Julie Goley highlighted one big advantage AU students have when working at Augusta National during the Masters, one of professional golf’s four majors.
“For a week, you are a red carpet to the world,” Goley said.
The 2027 Masters will be played April 8-11 at Augusta National. Rory McIlroy is the back-to-back defending champion.
