Evans Towne Center Park is once again becoming the one of the go-to spots for a festive winter destination this holiday season.

The park has an outdoor ice skating rink, seasonal decorations and events for everyone.

The main attraction of the park’s holiday offerings is Evans on Ice, This is a covered outdoor ice skating rink located right in the park. They are open daily during the holiday season through the beginning of January.

The rink is a family friendly activity for residents and students. Weekday admission is $14, with weekend tickets being priced at $17. If you are going to be a frequent visitor there is an option for a seasonal pass. You can rent skates there and there is also a fire pit and a s’mores station.

If you were looking for a more intense skating opportunity, there is also the option to purchase skating lessons one on one.

In addition to Evans on Ice, the park features many holiday light displays, including a large Christmas tree, light tunnels and many classic favorite Christmas characters throughout the walking path.

There is an annual tree lighting ceremony and it is scheduled for Dec. 4. This event will include different vendors, for food and drinks as well as local shopping.

For students and visitors that are looking for somewhere to eat nearby there are some options right in downtown Evans that are within walking distance of the Christmas activities.

Towne Center Tavern will have your selection of burgers and hotdogs while down from there you can go to Your Pie. if you wanted to drive just about two minutes away you would have even more options such as Poblanos Mexican, Mellow Mushroom and Chili’s Grill & Bar.

Evans Town Center Park has just the right combination of seasonal activities and nearby dining choices that make it a convenient and festive destination for everyone. It is suggested and encouraged to check the park’s website for specific hours, ticket pricing, and event schedules.

This part of the community offers an opportunity to get a holiday experience that brings the community together in a safe and festive environment.
