Get ready to roar in Homecoming Week 2024

It is that time of the year again – Augusta University’s Homecoming Week 2024!

Organized by Student Life Engagement, this year’s Roaring Loud themed homecoming will take place Feb. 11-17.

Homecoming week is an annual tradition celebrated by colleges across the United States. The event brings alumni, faculty, students and the entire campus community together to celebrate school spirit and make memories that will stick with students for a lifetime.

Augusta University’s Crew president, Jaden Scott, said the celebration is looking to “...connect with students through music.” Students will take part in performances inspired by music festivals, such as Roarchella, Jagstock and Roaring Loud.

All university students, faculty and alumni are invited and encouraged to partake in this year’s week-long activities and celebration. These events, as described by event organizers, are listed below:

Homecoming Hangout | Monday, Feb. 12 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. | JSAC Roscoe Williams Ballroom

Homecoming Hangout will include small, intimate performances from student artists, and several interactive experiences will be offered to attendees. It allows students to interact openly with candidates.

Candidate Cookout | Tuesday, Feb. 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. | Summerville Campus Amphitheater

Come to Candidate Cookout to hear from each candidate about the ways in which they plan to represent Augusta University if selected as a part of the royal court.

Pass the Paw | All week

The Pass the Paw competition will be held throughout homecoming week. Students will get a chance to vote on the banner that stood out the most to them from each organization. All organizations will be observed throughout the week based on participation and attendance of events.

Jaguar Mania | Wednesday, Feb. 14 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. | Maxwell Theatre

The Jaguar Mania dance competition is not one to miss! Many student organizations will be participate and show off their best dance moves on the Maxwell Theatre stage.

Homecoming Kickoff | Thursday, Feb. 15 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. | Summerville Campus Amphitheater

At Homecoming Kickoff, each organization will debut its Pass the Paw competition banners, and the homecoming candidates for the week will be revealed. Don’t miss the firework show!

Homecoming Dance | Friday, Feb. 16 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. | JSAC Ballroom

The Homecoming Dance is another event you will want to mark on your calendar. As a highlight of the Homecoming festivities, the dance will include the crowning of our Duchess and Duke. The dance will be a night of music, laughter and memory that will last a lifetime.

Alumni Tailgate | Saturday, Feb. 17 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. | Christenberry Fieldhouse

The alumni tailgate will take place before the men's game, outside of the Christenberry Field House. Alumni will have a chance to fellowship and indulge in several tailgate activities in celebration of another homecoming year. Tents will be set up for tailgaters.

Homecoming Game | Saturday, Feb. 17 Women’s game 1:30 p.m. Men’s game 3:30 p.m. | Christenberry Fieldhouse

The final event is the Homecoming Game! Augusta University’s Jaguars compete in two basketball games and watch the Homecoming Court King and Queen be crowned at the Men’s halftime.
