Jaguars set for annual Navy and Grey intrasquad match

The Augusta University women’s volleyball team is back on the court. and fans can get a first look at the 2025 squad during the annual intrasquad scrimmage on Friday, Aug. 29.
The team will split into two squads and face off against each other in what is always a fun and competitive night for players and fans alike.
The scrimmage starts at 6:30 p.m. at Christenberry Fieldhouse, and admission is free. While there will not be concessions, fans are welcome to bring their own snacks and enjoy the action up close.
Last season, the Jaguars finished with a record of 21-8 and earned their 17th NCAA tournament berth. Coach Sharon Quarles is bringing back that same energy while welcoing a strong 2025 signing class, featuring 11 new players ready to make an impact this season.

After the intrasquad scrimmage, Augusta will kick off the regular season with nine games on the road, starting with the Florida Southern Classic in Lakeland, Fla., next weekend. The Jaguars will be looking to carry the excitement and energy from the Navy and Grey match into their first official games of the season..
On Thursday, Aug. 28, the Jaguars were picked to finish second in the Peach Belt Conference this season by the league coaches. AU was behind Lander, with Flagler expected to finish third.
Libero Giulia Rodrigues was picked as a preseason all-Peach Belt Conference team member. Rodrigues is from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She is joined by Katie Miller of Lander, Cassidy Bloom and Clare Sheedy of Flagler, and Anna Sommer and Lexi Rogers of USC Aiken,
AU’s Mia Saavedra was named a nominee for the inaugural Allstate NACDA Fall Good Works Team, which recognizes male and female student-athletes across all divisions and sports for their commitment to community service, academic achievement and athletic performance. Saavedra is a junior from Tampa, Fla.
