Augusta University’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion is now renamed and reimagined as the Office of Institutional Access, Success, and Belonging.

In a letter sent to students, staff and faculty on Jan. 5, AU Provost Neil MacKinnon announced the formation of the new office as part of the university’s plan to expand its outreach of inclusivity and cultivate an environment that encourages growth.

Garrett Green, who was named as AU’s chief diversity officer last year, will assist in leading the office as its associate vice president.

“I am pleased to announce that Garrett Green has been appointed as Augusta University’s first associate vice president for access, success, and belonging,” said MacKinnon. “In his new role, Dr. Green will expand his focus on serving faculty and staff to include supporting the critical student areas of military and veteran services, multicultural student engagement, and testing and disability services.”

The website for the office has also been updated to include the new name.
