The Augusta University baseball team defeated Emanuel 13-0 after an 11-run third inning on Tuesday, March 12.

In the first inning, the Jaguars’ Kyle Lodise scored on a single to right field by Zach Kwiatokowski, but the third inning was what really pushed the Jags to victory.

Lodise started the bottom of the inning with a solo home run.

A Parker Ingram single scored Harrison Aulds. Jake Vachon hit a SAC fly to score Ingram.

Koby Ayala singled up the middle to score Rushton Bowles and Kwiatokowski to make the score 6-0. Ayala and Nolan Turner then scored on another single up the middle from Aulds.

Ingram came back up again in the third to single to left field and score Lodise.

Kwiatokowski ended the third inning with a three-run homer to bring around Ingram and Aulds.

Augusta tacked on another run in the fifth inning with a Vachon left-field single to score Aulds.

Emanuel mustered six hits but to no avail.

Aulds and Kwiatokowski both went 3 for 3 to lead the Jaguars.

First-year pitcher Marshall Flowers got the win for the Jaguars. He threw two and a third innings without allowing any runs on three hits and striking out two.

Augusta will host conference opponent Claflin University this weekend. First pitch will be at 6 p.m. Friday, and the doubleheader on Saturday is slated to start at 1 p.m.
