Five things to do this weekend in Augusta

Halloween weekend in Augusta is packed with events for every kind of interest, from spooky movie nights to fall-themed shooting ranges.
Starting with a morning stretch, Savannah River Brewing Company will host a beginner-friendly Beer Yoga class Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The event invites participants to unwind with yoga and craft beer in a relaxed setting.
No experience is required, just bring a mat and an open mind. For $16 it includes the class and one beer for the event. Every beer after is purchased by you during the event. Just make sure you have a safe way of getting home.
For those who prefer something a little louder, the Great Pumpkin and Zombie Shoot at Fort Gordon begins at 11 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m. on Saturday Oct 25. Participants can choose between a rifle challenge by taking aim at pumpkin targets or a pistol challenge that takes aim with zombie themed designs.
The event offers a mix of marksmanship and Halloween flair, with standard range fees applying. This event is great for yourself who are looking to brush up on marksmanship skills without the need to do the set up those. For more details, email fortgordonmwr@gmail.com
If you are looking for a free evening event, the Cinema Series returns to Maxwell Theatre on the Summerville Campus with a double feature on theme with the season. This year's Halloween double feature includes the stories of vampires. This includes the movies of “Sinners” at 7 p.m. and “Blade” at 9:30 p.m.
With costumes being encouraged, and DJ sets from Secret Record Night will play before and between screenings you’re bound to have a thrilling time whether you attend alone or with friends. The best part is thanks to Student Life and Engagement for helping make admission to be completely free in support of the Cinema Series.
Le Chat Noir’s 18th annual fundraiser, the Black Cat Carnival, begins Saturday night at 8 p.m. downtown. The event includes carnival games, sideshow performances, and local vendors. General admission is free, though midway tickets and Very Important Clown packages are available for those seeking an upgraded experience.
The carnival will also feature live fire performances from Arcane Arts and collaboration with The Treehouse across the street. The event is an adult themed event, which means it’s 18+ only. Therefore, they will not allow children to be present at any point.
If you want to extend the weekend, the Columbia County Library will host its Cosplay Club meeting on Monday at 6 p.m. in Classroom D. The meeting is 1 hour long but it still a great way to engage with the community.
The club offers a space for creators to bring ongoing projects, meet fellow enthusiasts, and share ideas in a casual, welcoming environment. Attendance is completely free and encouraged with attendees ranging in age and experience you might get some useful feedback for a specific project or some guidance for a new idea.
Whether you plan to stretch, shoot, or simply soak up the Halloween atmosphere, Augusta offers plenty of ways to celebrate the season.
