MILLEDGEVILLE—The Augusta University men’s cross-country team will go after their seventh straight Peach Belt Conference championship at Georgia College on Saturday, Oct. 25.

And the Jaguar women also have high hopes at the conference meet. The AU women have their eyes on their first conference title behind Madison Thomas, who has run the fastest time in the league this fall.

The AU men enter as the conference's dominant force after claiming six straight league titles on the back of reliable top-five performances.. Senior Nasrudin Mohamed headlines a lineup that includes Oscar Curry, Jackson Musto, Andrew Helfers and Eli Corn.

Mohamed, the senior from Grovetown High School, finished 13th last year and will be in the running for the individual title on Saturday. He has been PBC runner of the week three times this fall. Mohamed won the Bobcat Invitational in Milledgeville last month.

On the women's side, Augusta has momentum going into the conference meet. Thomas, the senior kinesiology major from Evans High School, has run outstanding times this fall. She has been PBC runner of the week three times, and she also took first at the Bobcat Invitational.

Led by Thomas and Maria Biondolillo, the Jaguars had strong performances at the Royals Challenge in Charlotte, N.C., and hope to challenge Flagler for the PBC title.

The women’s 5-kilometer race will begin at 9 a.m. and the men’s 8K at 10:15. The championships are live-streamed on the Peach Belt Network (https://pbcsportsnetwork.com/).
