The Netflix original “Citation” was released in October 31, 2020. The film features a young Nigerian girl named Moremi who is attending a university. The film, which is based on true events, has Moremi report Lucien N’ Dyarea, a popular professor in the university, who tried to rape her.

After watching this movie, I was moved by Moremi’s bravery in taking a stand against Lucien N’ Dyare, the man who tried to take advantage of her.

A notable feature about the movie is that the audience is able to witness Moremi’s emotions throughout the film. Viewers are also able to see the perspective of both Moremi and Lucien N’ Dyare throughout the process with the university board. The storyline highlights past and present events to allow viewers to understand the movie.

During the film, the variety of characters display their reactions to this unfortunate situation in different ways. Some students at the university are encouraging, while others are embarrassed and believe there are untruths to the event.

I recommend everyone to watch this film as it encourages individuals to speak up and take the necessary actions in situations where there is sexual harassment. I highly recommend the movie and I believe that viewers will not be disappointed.
