The return of Augusta University's Haunted Trail

Augusta University’s Haunted Trail returns presented by Housing & Residence Life and being hosted at the Maxwell Theater. Now it’s under a new name, according to Tiffany Ashford the Housing & Residence Associate Director, “we changed the name and location but its still the same event, we’re hoping to reach out to more students with this new location.”

After Helene’s rampage last fall, the original location of the Haunted Trail was left in ruins and keeping the weather in mind they decided to move it to the maxwell so rain or shine they can have scares for all.

This year students can attend the events by showing up to the Maxwell theater on the Summerville campus of Augusta University on Tuesday October 21 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Not only will they have scares, but the Fall Festival is also being hosted just outside.

The Fall Festival will provide various entertainment for students, such as a live DJ performing, food trucks, activities and games for students and staff to partake in for free. With all of these Ashford hinted at some of the activities such as the photo booth, apple bobbing, fall wreath decorating, T-shirt decorating, cookie making, face paint and so much more.

Additionally, the food trucks will have many options to choose from including vegan options, deserts such as ice cream, and food trucks that serve main courses such as various chicken dishes. For the Hall of Horrors, Ashford has stated that “we don’t want to ruin any surprises that we have instore for those who attend.” However, some of the staff of the maxwell did include some details in how the Hall of Horror will work.

There will be guides to help the groups navigate the various areas of the of the trail. While you wait, Pom and Dance will have live performances on stage of the Maxwell theater at 8 p.m. During your wait, the staff of the event will have a way for who will be going when for the Halls of Horrors.

As you navigate through multiple haunted rooms filled with themed scares, the talented Scarers and Guides will be there to ensure you have a safe, yet exhilarating experience. The Guides will also point out ‘safe zones’ to keep your night fun and secure.

Come if you dare. It's a night of thrills, chills, and unforgettable memories. With live music and fun activities to keep you entertained all night.
