JagCon returns at the Maxwell on Sept. 4

JagCon is an annual event where students gather with the Augusta University community to celebrate shared interests.

This pop culture event takes place on the Summerville Campus in the JSAC and Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre on Friday, Sept. 4, from 5-8 p.m.

JagCon serves as a way for students to connect with other like-minded individuals who participate in and take in a rather balanced diet of media in pop culture. This includes, but is not limited to, comic books, games, anime, cosplay and pop music.

During the event, there will be a variety of activities in which each student can participate. These activities include miniature figurine painting, anime-inspired panel discussions and Esports.

In addition to this, there are whispers spreading of a cosplay contest said to take place during the convention. So, feel free to dress up as your favorite anime, video game, comic book, novel or movie character. Keep your eyes peeled, as there will be plenty of chances to win a prize throughout the evening.

Although, what is a function without food? At the JagCon event, you will find yourself spoiled with options via the many catering food trucks located in the JSAC field. This year, the event is expected to feature an Asian- Inspired food truck, a BBQ inspired food truck and a boba vendor. 

All in all, JagCon creates a safe space where students can both unite and share their special interests with one another.
