Jaguar men and women both win at the Bobcat Invitational

Both the Augusta University men and women were victorious at the Bobcat Invitational cross-country meet in Milledgeville on Friday, Sept. 26.

The Jaguar men were led by Nasrudin Mohamed, who took home the 8-kilometer title in 25 minutes and 44.36 seconds. It was his second victory of the season. Accordingly, Mohamed, the senior from Grovetown High School, earned Peach Belt Conference runner-of-the-week honors for the second time this season.

AU had five of the top nine finishers. Following Mohamed were Oscar Curry in third, Jackson Musto in seventh, Eli Corn in eighth and Andrew Helfers in ninth. The Jaguars finished with 28 points. Georgia College was second with 71 and Montevallo took third with 91.

The AU women were led by race winner Madison Thomas, who finished the 5K in 19:22.83. Thomas, the senior from Evans High School, was also named PBC runner of the week for the second time this season.

The Jaguars beat Division I Georgia Southern, which finished second, by 20 points.

Teammates Maria Biondollilo was fifth, Josabeth Graciano sixth, Danielle Thayer 14th and Amelia Ogden 16th.

Next up is the Royals Challenge in Charlotte, N.C., on Oct. 10. The PBC championships will be held in Milledgeville on October. 25.
