LIV's Reed wins Dubai Desert Classic

LIV's Reed wins Dubai Desert Classic

Patrick Reed walked off the 18th green in Dubai with the calm confidence of someone who’s been here before.

Reed captured the Hero Dubai Desert Classic on Sunday, Jan. 25, by four strokes, closing with an even-par 72 to seal the deal. It was his first DP World Tour victory since joining LIV Golf, and a timely reminder that his game still travels anywhere in the world.

At 35, the American added his fifth European Tour title and the 10th professional win of his career. Not too shabby. The victory also pushed Reed back inside the top 30 of the world rankings, a meaningful step as he continues to balance LIV events with opportunities on the global stage.

For those who’ve followed his journey, the moment carried extra weight. Long before the green jacket and global spotlight, Reed was a key member of Augusta (State) University’s 2010 and 2011 NCAA Division I men’s golf championship teams. Before that, he sharpened his competitive edge at the University of Georgia. In 2018, he etched his name into golf history by winning the Masters.

Dubai was another chapter, not a comeback, but a confirmation. Patrick Reed is still winning, still competing, and still writing his story.
