Jaguar men finish sixth, women ninth at Converse Kick-Off meet

The Augusta University men’s cross-country team finished sixth at the season-opening Converse Kick-Off meet on Friday, Sept. 5, at t Milliken Research Park in Spartanburg, S.C.

Jackson Musto was the first across the line for AU in the 6-kilometer race. He finished 31st with a time of 20 minutes, 44.3 seconds.

Also scoring for the Jaguars were Shazeb Rashid in 46th place, Landon Amos in 55th, Barrett Stepp in 63rd and David Ajuzie in 77th.

In the women’s race, AU opened the season with a ninth-place finish in the Kick-Off.

Sophomore Caleigh Munro’s led Augusta with a time of 21 minutes, 20.9 seconds in the 5K race. She finished 32nd.

Junior Ansley Graddy was next for AU in 21:35.1. She finished in 37th place. Sophomore Cheyenne Ryan came in 41st in 21:44.3. Camryn Wommack finished 53rd in 22:12.4 and Brie Andrews took 61st in 22:25.8.

Coach Jacob Burgamy’s teams will run in the Queen City Invitational this Friday (Sept. 12) in Charlotte, N.C.
